A Force of Personality and Strong Ethics Bettering Lives in Her Home City

There are very few human beings on the planet who are in a position to do massive amounts of good because the majority of us simply do not have the resources to do so. Dede Wilsey has taken this on as a personal challenge because although she is a wealthy heiress to a substantial fortune, there is never enough money held by any one single person to be able to do incredible amounts of good in the forms that really do get huge results. She has used what she has to create a better world by simply tapping into her own strong ethics laid out for her by both her father, a famous diplomat for former President Eisenhower and her great grandfather, a man known as Herbert Dow who was the founder of the now world renown Dow Chemical company. Never being content to do what she can personally fund, Dede has stepped up to bat for causes to improve the world for more than three decades now.

What she might lack in overall financial power she makes up for with a lead by example approach. When the de Young museum in San Francisco, California needed to be rebuilt after a damage from a quake, it was Dede Wilsey who made it her personal mission for more than ten years to see the project through to its completion. She has relied on her own knack for convincing those with substantial wealth to contribute to causes that better the world. She has only selected projects she cares for deeply and her passion has lead her in the direction of creating places such as art museums and hospitals which are built to heal the world. Never one to back down from any challenge, no matter how large, Dede has become a beacon for hope even in a world facing a severe economic situation.
