After my grandmother passed away four weeks ago, I took a really hard look at my life. She was the only reason that I was living in this town and unfortunately she was the only family I had left. For the first time in my life, I really felt alone. But that also meant that I had the opportunity to do something for myself and start a new life somewhere else. So I took out a map, closed my eyes, and put my finger down on it. When I opened my eyes, I discovered the place that would be my new home: Rancho Mirage.
Even though closing my eyes and picking a random place to live might seem a bit crazy, I thought that it was finally time for me to let my hair down and see the world. When you consider that I have lived in the same place for my entire life, then you would realize why I needed to do this and how it was going to help me grow as a person. My only real concern was finding a job, but I certainly wasn’t going to move until I had one lined up.
I made a trip to Rancho Mirage a week ago to drop off some resumes. Specifically, I was hoping that I could get a job working at a place offering air conditioning repair in Rancho Mirage since that is what I had been doing for the past ten years. But I also realized that I couldn’t just count on that, so I also dropped off my resume at many other businesses hoping to get a bite. I figured that with my glowing references and my positive attitude that I should be able to find something.
So my plans of moving are on hold until I get a job, but I am hopeful that it will be very soon. I am really looking forward to getting out of here and starting over – I think a change will do me good.
